Around here, Rottweilers is one of the top breed presented for registration, after labrador and golden retrievers and geman shepperds, no wonder you see many :)

At this moment we only have bits of information, acoording to the media owners may always keep the dogs but have to make a compulsive spaying/neutering.
the only thing they take form you is the money from your pockets.
Some say there will be an exception for pure breed, LOP registered dogs.
Not sure what the requirements will be but thousands of dogs are not LOP registered.
I don't know the US translation for LOP, that is a register made at the portuguese kennel club only for pure breeds, different from the mandatory local register.
