You can put up sufficient fencing for not a lot of money.

Since our dogs are supervised when outside, we put in 4x4 posts (sunk in with concrete) and 5' tall field fencing.. It keeps other dogs out, other's kids out, and our dogs in.

We put in enough fencing for just over a 1/4 acre for less than 300.00usd. That is not a high price to pay for peace of mind.
