These are two different scenarios:having a Rott outside without a fence and having a Rott outside without a fence without supervision. I have often had my dogs outside without a fence, but I was always present outside when they were out. Until they knew the boundaries and had a solid recall they went outside into my unfenced yard on leash every single time. Now we have a 6 ft privacy fence that we built to keep our neighbors dogs out, not to keep our dogs in, and I still do not have them outside unsupervised.
