Re: Would you have a Rott not fenced?

If you live on 3 acres, why don't you look into the price of a 7 strand hi-tensile wire fence with three hot wires. It will cost more than the invisible fence, but less then chain link or board.

With proper corner posts and braces, a good charger, good materials, and a little training, hi-tensile with electric is a very good fence and as effective as a traditional fence.

Kencove online has a good catalog with a lot of information on electric fencing.

You could also fence just a section of your yard with traditional fencing, or it you wanted something mobile or modular you could us those 10x6 or 6x6 kennel pannels.

We used to have a place where our dog's fenced area was the 2nd story back deck and stairs, and some of the surrounding area which we enclosed with 10 - 12 of those big kennel pannels. It looked kind of like a lion cage. :) 13 years later we still find lots of uses for those panels. They are the kind of thing you really can get your money's worth out of and you can connect as many together as you want as long as you make sure there's a bit of an angle to each corner to keep them supported. Most home improvement stores sell single panels and the hardware to attach them.
