Re: Our Sweet Sassy Has Parvo!?!?

It sure sounds like she's on the road back to me! 100.6 is a NORMAL temp, and if her diarrhea is the color of the IV, it's because she's not able to digest properly yet, but NO BLOOD is a very good sign. She's going to be weak for awhile, but just showing INTEREST in anything at this point (even being poked by a needle ) is a very GOOD THING.

What are they trying to feed her? I'd take some jars of baby food chicken with you and let her lick it off your fingers. Tapioca is also a very soothing food for dogs (prepared with chicken broth and you could stir an egg in with it - NO sugar or milk). You can swirl baby food into the tapioca, also. Just coat your finger with it and let her lick it off to start - a very small amount. She's going to need a very bland diet for awhile so her intestinal tract can continue to heal. There's also a high calorie, low volume paste you can get called NutriCal. Ask your vet about this.

Is she still on an IV?
