Did you pay for your ticket w/a credit card, or through a travel agency, or online? If so - you have options you can exercise. If I were you, I would cancel the booking fly into another country like Austria, Germany, or Switzerland - they will not stipulate a muzzle, with the associated risks.
Rent a car and have a nice drive to your destination in France. Just be sure your rabies is less than a year old, and it is not the first rabies shot. Lufthansa is another good airline.
