Re: Our Sweet Sassy Has Parvo!?!?

Well...Sassy had a really bad night and temp is a little subnormal and she is VERY weak still....I had "the talk" with the vet who said that they are treating her like one of their own and that they will let me know when they think enough is enough.....I have been sitting here all day thinking about my poor girl and really wondering if it is time.....I hate to see her in agony....so I asked vet to run more labs and she suggested we start plasma.....I say ok lets give it a go.....she starts the plasma a few hrs ago and then the cell rings....its the vet ofc....I always wonder if I am going to get "THE" call....matter of fact I dread EVERY am (my Sassy stays at the hosp alone from 9pm to 6am)....so I answer the call and vet says that she is actually sitting up in the cage (she has been horizontal for 2 days) and is looking at the vet like "man my stomach hurts".....vet tells me that WBCs are back to within normal range (they had been down to 2.3 and now up to 9).....and that most of her labs look pretty normal except that she is a little anemic and creatinine is a lil low....normal since she has been bleeding for 5 days....anyways, they also force fed her some rebound (milky looking electrolye stuff) and some dextrose to help stimulate tummy to start healing....she threw up a couple hrs later, but vet said it wasnt the rebound....it was the normal gastic stuff....so here is where I am.....I know parvo tries to kill off the WBCs so that she cant fight it so if her body is actually making WBCs is this a good thing, or just me looking for any sign to keep trucking.....I am rather depressed and ended up sobbing to the vet today....sigh.....my body is tired....I cant imagine what my Sas feels like....any advice is great! thanks
