So I've been searching for a puppy for the past few months, and I must admit that the process of locating a breeder is a lot harder than I ever imagined it would be

These forums have been an absolute godsend, and I feel that I have learned soooo much here. I have read and re-read so much that some days my eyes are literally bloodshot from staring at the computer screen for so long. I feel as though I am armed with all the right info that I need to find a reputable breeder...thanks to all you knowledgeable folks
Today I went on the AKC website and found the contact name for our local kennel club's breeder referral. I have been searching for breeders through the web and also by using google on dog's names that have been mentioned here, but thought this person may help widen my search. I sent an e-mail asking if she had any info on COE rottweiler breeders. She responded by asking me what a COE rottweiler was? Now I know that I read these forums daily, for the most part, and the term "COE Breeder" is used frequently, but is it a term that is used on these forums and not a "common" term that most people familiar with breeding would know? All my past rotties have been the product of BYB or rescue, and although I feel almost guilty not going the rescue-route, I don't think I can take the heartache of the medical issues that come with a poorly-bred rottie again. I am determined to find a well-bred, healthy rottie this time. I know there are no guarantees, but I would at least like to increase the odds.
Anyway, with all your collective wisdom I guess I am asking if you would consider a referral from someone who asked you what a COE rottie was?
