I like both males and females, I really like my girls, although they are, in my experience, always softer than males. My boys, Justice, who has passed, and now my new pup Ruckus, are far more sure of themselves, confident and I find, easier to train. That said, I will always have my girls and just one, token boy.

All of that said, personally, as a breeder, I will not place a male puppy with anyone who has not owned a Rottweiler before and I never let anyone pick their own pup (I place pups exactly as Poohbearsmom described). There is just more to a male than there is a female, size-wise and otherwise.
