Sounds like beating to me. And, then you start backpedaling, saying a "very hard slap" is the answer:

And in the post I quoted first, you go on to say that you never have slapped your dog, but you are sure that's the way to go to discipline the OP's dog. Sorry, have a hard time believing you've never used a method you are so sure is right. Like the "severe reprimand" you gave him for "stealing" your steak? (And I'm not trying to get off topic here, just challenging the bad advice given here about discipline)
