| Re: The best line to continue with mambo von der crossener ranch and balou vom silbeblick Hi ,
thrower0111 you are faced with a tough choice . Mambo CR has sired a huge ammount of litters , and his progeny are all over the world . He unfortunately is no longer at Stud however their are some very good sons of mambo that look good ranging from the more subtle types to the more extreme types as rightly said by a fellow members . Looking @ progeny of Amigo SW at the KS (Look at bitch Hope SW) i am very pleased by what he is throwing , and the increasing demand for him in Germany ( He is quite popular) suggests that many breeders are aware of what he can possibly contribute to their breeding program .
Having said all of this , breeding on pedigrees alone is not always the best way to acheive sucess as a breeder , you have to look at your bitch , her weaknesses , study her lines see if some of the weaknesses come from those lines etc etc . You may want to study those before going out and looking for a suitable dog to breed to . Outcrosses are not always Bad :-) . I have seen Bitches out of Rick Lines produce Quite well with Akino Progeny (and Akino himself) with Orlando Progeny (including orlando)etc etc . Try to weed out some of the weaknesses in your female while still Stay True to the TYPE you so admire (I get from your thread starter that you like Rick lines) - Essence of Breeding really .
It would be a whole lot easier for us all if we could see pics of your bitch , because atleast it is my opinion that breeding on pedigrees alone is not COMPLETE breeding because one must also take into account the morphology, anatomy, temperament (PHENOTYPE) of the dog/bitch concerned . |
