Did she have all her puppy vaccinations? If so, you may be able to get the vaccine manufacturer to help with the cost of treatment. Find out from the vet the maker of the vaccine she received and contact the company to see if you can file a claim.

She had all from the breeder (we got her at a little more then 3 months) and I was under the impression that she was good until 6 months at which point I could start her on heartworm preventative, get her spade, and all the normal shots again....I guess I messed up somewhere along the line....she has had her appt for all of that scheduled for this friday (since early last week)....guess we will be missing all that.....
