I have 34 shelters that are real close to me. Within 45 minutes. Anyway, there used to be a lot of Rottweilers that were showing up there as well. Now, yes, the occassional few come in, but not nearly like they used to. Yes, it is now mostly Pit bulls. As sorry as I feel for the good Pit bull owners I have to admit that I am selfishly happy it takes the slightest bit of bad press away from the Rottweilers. I have also noticed a shift in some peoples attitude toward Rotties in my area as well. I hear a lot more positive comments about the breed now then I did 10-15 years age. That was the worst for the breed. I am working on getting my boys Therapy certified right now. Many people are able to feel comfortable around a dog that is Therapy certified no matter the breed. Every little bit counts.
