Both of my girls have torn there ACL and had repair. Greta had the ACL repaired the spring of 2005-that surgery was $1500, then spring of 2006 she was having similar trouble--no weight bearing same leg, took her in and the cartilage in that leg needed repair-that was $1000. Last spring Fozzy tore her ACL, but this time the vet said they have started repairing the cartilage at the same time if there is any sign of damage because it is very common for a dog to have trouble with the cartilage a year after ACL repair. Anyway, the cartilage was also damaged so he repaired both for a combined cost of $1500. Our girls were restricted for 4 months--after the ACL repair--seemed like forever. After Greta's cartilage repair it was only 8 weeks. |
