My rottie Baron is also five months old. As soon as I wake up I walk him at a very brisk pace for 20 minutes then let him roll around at his own pace in a park. Then I feed him, no food till we exercise. I then walk him 30-40 minutes at about 4 or 5 in the afternoon. He still has energy to run and play if something catches his attention or someone in the house is willing to play with him, and is still very alert. So I feel as if I am not overdoing it.
