CAPITALISM - an economic system in which ownership of the means of production, and exchange of wealth, is made and maintained by private individuals and corporations.
SOCIAL DEMOCRACY - a political/social system which uses democracy to create state-sponsored programs and regulations, designed to ameliorate the injustices of capitalism.
Capitalism has little to do with this, unless you own a puppy mill.
Social Democracy is the structure of (most of) our education system in the US, as well as the structure of the system through which cities offer free or low-cost spay/neuter programs... not to mention the shelters that either house or euthanize unwanted animals. |
