| Still having pee problems Alright so Gary is 6 months old now and I would say is about 90% house broken. He does not have accidents in the house anymore, meaning he doesn't intentionally go potty in the house. We are still having problems with him "leaking" pee though, as I mentioned in an earlier thread I had posted.
In that thread I was told he probably had a UTI, so we went to the vet and they said everything was normal about his urine, so medical issues have been ruled out. That is why I am making a new thread, because I would really love some advice or stories about YOUR rottie puppies who maybe went through this same phase (I hope this is just a phase).
Gary pees on the floor or even on your shoes when he is excited. Everyone in the house knows he has this problem, and because of that when people walk by and he is happy they all just ignore him. If you talk to him or bend down to pet him, he will probably pee all over you. What is frusterating here is that he also does this just for people walking by. Everyone knows to ignore him, but even when Gary is being ignored he still will pee. WHY??????!
My solution has been to make sure that he is empty when people are going to be coming over (we have a very busy house, so it is always exciting here) and that usually does the trick. But sometimes 10 minutes after he has been emptied someone will come by and there he goes again. I am going through carpet cleaner like crazy!
I would really love some extra advice if possible as to how to get Gary to stop doing this, or if anyone else's puppies did/do the same behaviors and how you dealt with it and if they grew out of it or not.
Thank you! |
