Is "sudden" hip dysplasia/arthritis possible??? Hi Everybody:) I'm a newbie (to the board and the breed),we've always owned husky/shepard breeds so I am in desprate need of feedback from your (Rott) group.
As briefly,yet thoroughly as possible,here's the run-down;
We were out to adopt(rescue)an animal to add to our family,after some searching we found,and decided on a 17 month old Rottweiler named Sasha.The only info the shelter had for her was her age,and that she was a "turn-in",by the owner.
So here we are,we've now had her for two full weeks,I've been studying the breed,getting to know her,we LOVE her,she's fit into our home perfectly.....then the other day we hear her "yipe" in pain,after watching,touching,ect we narrowed it down to her LEFT HIP....it started out just when climbing,like up the step into the front door...but in less then THREE DAYS,it's now progressed that quickly,she seems to be yiping more and more,she can't even jump on our bed anymore now:(
There's no visible injuries,nothings "happened" since she's been here with us...this all just started and got worse in three days...could it be the "hip dysplasia/arthritis" that I now have learned that is so prevailant in Rott's???? Any other possibles here that I could/should look into to????
I want to end in saying that she is NOT in any type of "constant",or horrific pain,and I know we're going to have to get her to the vet ASAP,it's just going to take another week or so,as we just were not prepared for a vet-ER so soon you know...so my hope is that somebody here can offer us somethings to atleast study/look into/ect in the meantime.
Thank you so much for any help/advice/feedback/thoughts we can get here,they will be much appreciated by myself,hubby and our four kids who already ADORE Sasha too ofcourse:) |
