ILP =
indefinite listing privilege (nka Purebred Alternative Listing/Indefinite Listing Privilege (PAL/ILP)) gives owners of PB dogs who don't have papers ability to compete in AKC sanctioned performance events.
I got ILP for the bitch we adopted thru a rescue program. I gave her a fancy name, took the required pix of her, filled out the form, enclosed a copy of her spay cert, and sent in the check. A few weeks later, the AKC sent me back a form with her ILP. With this number I register Mox and compete with her in various AKC performance events.
