They do the paperwork...and the CKC completes the registration and then the breeder sends it to the puppy owners. Most of the breeders I know also want their kennel name to be used in the name as well as the theme, or letter that goes with the litter. Some breeders give you a chance to think of a good registered name and allow the new owner to be for some input. Also, the breeder must have some permanent identification on the registered puppy...either microchip or tattoo .
