| Rocky is scheduled for neuter... If you have read my past posts, then you are familiar with my situation. Rocky is scheduled for his neuter on March 4th. He is on antibiotics now week five and six to be on the safe side and probably will renew another two weeks to go beyond the neuter. His current urine sample looked okay, all negative results except still with the protein at +++? What can I expect in an older dog as far as recovery? Right now he looks good, eating and drinking normal, long walk in the AM, short walk in the PM, takes his Glucosamine and Celadrin everyday, eats mostly dry Wellness CORE grain free food.
Since he was diagnosed with chronic prostatitis, most likely after the procedure, his prostate will shrink in two to four weeks I am told and from what I have researched. Also his symptoms if related to am enlarged prostate may subside with no more antibiotics needed. If not, somehow he will need an abdominal ultrasound with a fine needle biopsy to see whats happening in the prostate, does this sound right? I called one diagnostic center and they quoted me $650 +/-?
I was going to ask the doc who is doing the neutering if they can ultrasound him while is is under for the neuter?
