Many breeders insist that their puppy buyers use THEIR kennel name in naming and registering any puppy they breed---apparently your breeder did not.
What you did can be looked at like you were trying to fool people---that you were misrepresenting the linage of your puppies.
Many "famous" kennels got that way through generations of careful breeding and very hard work, many disappointments and long nights---for you to use their kennel name is just wrong and one could question your motives and what is the difference if you say the pups were for working and OB?? What does that have to do with it??
If you "admire" and want to "compliment" a kennel, spend the money sign a contract and PURCHASE one of THEIR puppies---don't try to stick their good name on some other pup.
There are laws in place for things like this.
I think the penalty should be----as far as the AKC is concerned--is offering you NO registration at all.
IN fact, I am surprised that they did not pull your registration by now.
