| Re: Commands in different Language I think it's kind of gimmicky just so you think nobody else can use them to control your dog. What if you had to take the dog to a vet and it had to stay there for several days...what if some friend had to take care of your dog when you were out of town for a couple days. Nothing wrong with a dog following commands by someone else with your approval. I use german commands on the schutzhund field, mostly because it's a venue that originated in germany, a lot of the judges are german, and it's just kind of tradition. But off the field I generally use English.
