| Re: Our First Show - Any Tips?? My never fail, works on every dog, bait is garlic beef heart. I have the butcher slice beef heart about 1/2 inch to 3/4 inch thick then spread it in a baking dish. Sprinkle liberally with powdered garlic (not garlic salt!) and bake for an hour at 350 degrees; a little more if it is still "limp" when I lift it. Remove from juice, cool and pat dry.
Dogs who don't know me and don't even like people will follow me around the show grounds when I have this stuff and it is not NEAR AS NASTY to put in your mouth to hold (when you need both hands on your dog!) as liver is! In fact, it is very tasty; sort of like a nice roast! It also does not get crumbly and dribble all over the ring like liver and chicken can.
