I've given up trying to find toys that they can "play alone" with. as others have said, nylabones and kongs are about all. I'm sure I've bought my dogs every possible toy. the tire biter toy did hold up a while longer than most, but still got chewed up and probably swallowed. good toys to play with the dog with are: jolly balls, holey rollers, high quality rope tugs. I've braided denim and burlap for tugs. we had a rather long and expensive vet hospital stay due to ingested fleece, so toys are, for the most part, things we play with the dogs with.
