| Re: Michigan BSL I rarely walk my own dogs in my neighborhood because of the loose, aggressive GOLDENS. Yep, I have been charged by and had saliva smeared on my pant leg by an aggressive RESCUE (that means neutered) golden retriever male in MY OWN driveway. I didn't have a dog with me when that happened. These dogs and there are about 4 of them- 3 from the same owner(they are all rescue dogs too) are allowed to roam and do whatever they want and what they do is charge people and go after other dogs being walked. I have called AC a number of times and NOTHING gets done because they are golden retrievers.
The guy who made that statement should come to my neighborhood and see that it doesn't matter the breed, it is the owner. The owner with the 3 is almost too stupid to breath, but they have bred and produced 3 children. They don't understand how their dogs get out, but it is plain to me. It is the open front door. It is the open garage door. It is the open gate. It is the storage boxes in a shape of a giant stair steps leading over the fence.
They also chain their dogs with the chain being able to reach the sidewalk. The dogs lay in wait behind bushes and charge when you go by. I walk in the middle of the street because of that. The dogs are on flat collars that are about 5 inches too big and the dogs just slip out of their collars too. They don't understand how they do that too. As I said, I am amazed that these people even know how to breath. They don't think it is a problem because their dogs are neutered and goldens. But I am the demon spawn because I have intact rottweilers. The difference is that I don't allow my dogs to roam the neighborhood- they do.
I am just a little bit peeved that people with bad goldens get a pass, time after time.
