I've been a long time lurker and have enjoyed the wealth of knowledge here. I'm looking for the next member of our family.

We adopted our first Rott, Hannah, 2 1/2 years ago from a local animal shelter. She has long hair, a great personality, is great with our 2 yr old daughter, has a high play drive, and loves other animals. She's never met a stranger and is still very much a puppy at heart even at 3 1/2 yrs old. She is spayed and we have no plans of breeding our next dog.

We've decided on another dog and that it will be another Rott. This time we plan on finding a reputable breeder.

We're not looking for a show dog just another member of the family. We want excellent health and temperament. We'd like our next Rott to not be so accepting of strangers. yet we're not looking for a PP dog.

I'd like to find a breeder within reasonable driving distance of Louisville, Ky. I'd like to be able to see the litter and pick up the pup. I'm not crazy about having a pup shipped.

We're not opposed to rescuing another dog. We figure we'd just have a better chance for health and temperament with a breeder.

Hannah hasn't had professional training. I have taught her sit, stay, come, down, leave it, drop it, and heal. she does well but she's not 100%. We're also looking for a good trainer.

Does anyone know of any Rottweiler breeders and good trainers in the KY/ southern Indiana area.
