| Adult dog dumping inside the house!! Hi, new here :)
I have no idea what's wrong with my dog. He's a rescue dog, we have had him since he was 7 and now he's 10.
When we had to go away for a few days a few months ago, he went into a kennels with our other rotty. On return we found out that he'd been peeing all over his bed.
For the next week after getting him back he kept on peeing and pooing inside the house and on his bed!
He seemed to get over it and stopped.
However this strange behaviour has returned badly with him dumping in the house every other day. I can't understand this at all!!! There's access to the garden etc it isn't like he's trapped inside. He won't even let people know he needs to go outside when the door's shut.
He's old enough not to do this, he's always been such a lovely dog and I can't think of any reason for it. We've mentioned this to the vet but no answers.
Please help!! Any ideas at all???
The only thing I can think of is that it may be linked to abadonment issues. The only thing making me think this is that he first had this problem after we left him in the kennels for a few days, so surely us leaving him was the trigger?
In the first few months of owning him he hurt himself and needed to go to the vet's and he needed to stay overnight. Unfortunately he got all worked up because we weren't there and howled the place down - he got so bad the vets had to ring us to fetch him.
I'm confused :( and really don't know what to do. I don't even know what got him to stop doing it the first time round. |
