The family had also only had the dog for 6 months, although the animal was 2.5 years old.
A 16 year old girl had been left in charge of the baby, a 7yr old child, and a 6yr old child, as well as the dog. The 7yr old CARRIED the baby into the yard to see the dog and for some reason the dog attacked. The 16yr old, who was babysitting, was upstairs in the house. The 17yr old mother was not around - she had left the baby at the grandmothers for Christmas, and had not seen the baby since Boxing Day. The grand parents were not around either.
Like Snorey says - a tragic accident waiting to happen......
