| Buckshot's Journey Has Ended I am still in a daze as last evening I had to release our beloved Buckshot (10y 10mo) to run free across the Bridge. Just a week and a half ago he was diagnosed with a torn acl, yesterday they said that his body was emitting blood clots... His leg with the torn acl was dead from the knee down. Also on the opposite back leg, his foot was also dying. He was becoming anemic very quickly and they were unsure of where the clots were coming from. They offered a referral to VA Tech, but stated the only thing Tech would be able to do was offer an answer, at his age and as quickly he was declining, only a miracle would save him.
I am thankful for the time we had with him, however we all know it is always too short. He was one of the most perfect examples of what a Rottweiler is. I always will say, everyone thinks their dog is great, however when others say the same is when it truely means something.
My daughter and I stayed with him until the end. Even with all of his pain and loss of feeling, he walked proudly in the room and layed loyally out our feet. He will be sorely missed and always remembered and loved. |
