I agree that treadmill work should only be for an adult dog, but I do not think that it is a bad idea to put a dog on a treadmill. At this age your 4 month old pup should be working on leash manners, and strenuous exersize isn't something to consider until your dog is adult.
Treadmills are a great way to give a dog his exersize when a person is too busy to walk their dog. A dog needs his exersize in order to remain stable, otherwise you could end up with a hyperactive knucklehead dog who doesn't listen! If that is the ONLY form of exersize a dog ever gets, then by all means that person should not own a dog if he cannot commit to the dog. |
