This is not recommended - why don't you take the puppy outside to walk and play? And besides, your puppy is WAY TOO YOUNG to be on a treadmill! Cesar Millan did it on his shows to tire an ADULT dog out, before working on obedience. Is there a reason you can't take the puppy outside to play as exercise? You should also enroll in Puppy K classes. You should not be forcing any exercise on a 4 month old puppy! Playing in the yard, playing fetch etc. is plenty! Maybe a couple 10 minute walks too is good. But don't use a treadmill. It also shortens their stride. Before you do whatever Cesar does, ask a real trainer. Cesar even has disclaimers that say NOT TO DO THESE AT HOME unless you have talked with a qualified trainer. Which you clearly have not, since you put a 4 month old PUPPY on a treadmill! Read through all the stickies here on puppy development, you'll learn a ton.
