I share your sorrow for I had to have my rottie put down about a year ago and I still miss him very much. I just visited his grave today to "talk to him". Only those of us who have bonded with a rottie know how loving they can be, always by your side, wiggling the little stub tail when he sees you. You expressed your feelings so beautifully. Your love and care was not wasted; I'm sure you were well repaid.
