Mel I looked up infections in that book I bought, DUH I just put two and two together about why you wanted to know the name in someone else's post.
He recommens liquid kyolic aged garlic, echinacea, and goldenseal root both in a liquid form.
I wish they would give doses here, but it doesn't. If you DO go to a health food store I am sure they could help you. He said one lady put this in beef broth for the dog to lap up.
As far as your original question, I do NOT believe in psychics, or healers or mediums etc.
I believe they are mostly after money, and if your dog looks ill, she probably said that just to prepare you for the possibility. Believe me, I have been desperate enough to almost contact a medium once, so I do understand. I talked myself out of it, and I still fight the urge sometimes.
As far as nursing your dog, of course, I would do everything in my power to make him comfortable, and I would KEEP FIGHTING, as long as your Izzy is willing to. At this point you probably have nothing to lose.
Have you gotten an opinion from another vet? Tried different antibiotics? Some bacteria have grown resistant to drugs so you have to keep trying different ones.
I will be thinking of you and Izzy alot.
If the worst does happen and all hope for a recovery is lost, Izzy will let you know when his life is no longer worth staying for. I will be praying that it does not come to that point.
