| Re: Chris Vom Obergrombacher Schloss It would probably make more sense to put this in Breeding - I don't know that people will look in the Conformation area for something like this.
I bred to a Chris son several years ago. I have a Xanthos daughter and my husband has a Zamp son. While several of the linebreedings on Chris cemented a phenotype, that phenotype was highly dependent on the females he was bred to. Those linebreedings tend to be back in the 5th and 6th generation of most pedigrees today (through Gil) and do not have much relevance unless you yourself are linebreeding.
Franny is an example of a breeding between Xanthos and Zierde vom Wolfert Turm. Phenotypically she's beautiful - slightly overdone, but still feminine. She has a ton of drive, unfortunately she has mild unilateral dysplasia, but it does not interfere with her work. The breeding I did with a Chris son was an outcross breeding. The puppies produced had great drive, not a lot of type - large, light boned, sloping stops, long backs - definitely not a pretty litter, but one of the dogs from that litter went on to work in SAR and helped a lot of people.
