The hardest thing to do..

For those of you who dont know, I own 4 rotties. Two are puppies - Peaches and Chubby.. I also have had the pleasure of having their mother and father Sissy and Chico.
Chico was a rescue that someone gave us and it was at a time that Sissy had just lost her mate so the timing was perfect.
Chico was as I said a rescue rottie with aggression issues. My cousin who trains and does behavior work with rotties worked so hard with Chico and his problems. Sissy was injured about 2 months ago (a raccoon went up under a car and after tearing off the fenders of the car the raccoon sliced Sissy up pretty bad..) and after nursing her back to health we decided that she had earned the right to retire to my cousins house.... as you can guess Chico morned her and never quite got over it. His aggression issues came back and he chased one of our employees trying to bite him.
We have worked with Chico for sooo long but this was the last straw so to speak. I had to take him in today to put him to sleep.
I know that it was the right thing to do, but the right thing just sucks sometimes. The people who raised him before we got him, just messed him up with trying to make him into a "mean protection dog" and lost control... He had such a sweet side to him. It was like he had flash backs out of no where and with Sissy gone these issues came back up....
I couldnt take the chance of giving him away to someone that might get hurt or one of my employees or family members (family owned business) getting bitten and putting yet one more bad mark against a breed that if raised and trained for a LIFETIME are wonderful animals.
This was so very hard to put a 3 yr old, healthy and beautiful dog to sleep but with these dogs comes a responsibility that lies with us and owed to the breed....
I love you Chico and hope your running with the others on the other side of the bridge baby...this was my last gift to you...though it hurt so very much.
