Everyone in the family needs to be consistent with this pup! This pup needs to be on a schedule asap! You should have times when you feed her, not "when you think she's hungry" feed her in the morning, noon and evening (or whatever schedule you come up with). If there is no consistency with this pup, she'll grow to learn what she can get away with. Rotties need to know who is boss! Feed her dinner, take up water at 8pm or whatever, take her out one last time maybe 10-11pm and in the crate she goes. Maybe get up once to let her out at night, once she goes potty, back in the crate she goes. Period. Things will not get easier if DH is taking her out and playing with her at 1am. That's why she cries and whines in the crate, because she knows she'll get let out and get play time. |
