We love our new addition to the family but finding nights difficult and it is causing arguments with DH and myself.
I am a teacher and home for the summer so during the day I am constantly with her in and out all day, training, playing, and short puppy walks in the backyard or to the end of the block.
Nighttime comes, she is out cold by 9pm she usually sleeps to 11 maybe 12pm when she wakes for peep number 1 maybe do a #2.
between 1-2 up again for another peep
falls back to sleep for a couple of hours and her waking time is between 4 or 5am an occasional 6am. DH and I are exhausted. He stays with her at night when he is off from work but it is really throwing us off and causing friction in the house with these sleepless nights.
Is this normal puppy sleeping pattern? How long does this last?
WHAT DO OTHER PUP OWNERS DO THROUGH THE NIGHT? Am I caving in when she whines? When DH takes her out she tries to play at 3am I tell him no just put her back in the crate and he says she cries. What to do? Aside from the occasional puppy nipping she has been great but these sleepless puppy nights are rough..please help with any advice??? THANKS!!
