if your breeder has recently evaluated him and thinks he is good to show, then next step, enter matches(fun shows-no points/for practice and experience/less stress).
i agree to let him have fun, and mature. some people start showing a young dog and get upset and quit when they don't win right away-it takes time,especially with a male. but doing handling classes and trying him in local matches and shows for experience will do you both good, to see if you and him likes it.
other people that can also give a show potential opinion are breeder/judges, breed handlers, other breeders.
