If you stand directly in front of your dog while he is doing a sit stay (no more than a foot away from him), he should hold the sit as you are physically "blocking" him from laying down. Keep working close to him until he can hold the sit stay for a couple of minutes, then gradually increase the distance between you and your dog. |
