You can do your part by:
Making sure your dog is an excellent ambassador for the breed. Ongoing training and socialization is a good way to start. At the minimum, attain CGCs with your dogs.
Educating those around you that it's not only Rottweilers and Pit Bulls that are affected by these laws that are proposed and put into place. All dog owners are at risk of losing their rights.
By becoming aware of when and where laws are proposed, and writing well thought out letters explaining to politicians and local officials that enforcing current dog laws that are on the books, and educating the public in regards to responsible pet ownership are effective - BSL is not.
