Re: Home Cooked Diet-100 lb dog

Wow am I ever learning..Thanks to all of you. I just went shopping and bought:10 pounds lamb,100 pounds hamburger,5 family packs turkey drumsticks, 1 case chicken leg quarters, real unsalted butter, fish body oil(salmon)tablets, Fresh salmon skins on,10 dozen eggs, whole heavy cream, canned mackeral( but use sparingly due to high phosphorus), 2 boxes farina, 2 boxes cream rice, bunch of fresh sweet potatoes,5 butternut squash,3 acorn squash, fresh spinach, fresh green beans,2 green peppers,1 cantaloupe, bag of pears, couldnt find cranberries,10 bags of frozen peas and carrots,6 gallons distilled water, bottle of 400mg vit E,Bottle of b-complex,and bottle of Co-Q10, I am giving ground egg shells for the calcium 1/2 teaspoon per pound of food! How am I doing so far? Now I have to put it together in the right portions and hope their Creatinine & Bun levels go down. I have concern about their coats...Use to be shiney and smooth just beautiful before they got sick. Now they are dull with a oilly feel and have noticed some dander which wasnt present before. Will the stuff I bought help this and about how long before I notice a change? I am going to buy some green tripe somewhere!I also have started cooking their egg whites and using only 1 yolk raw in one of their meals. They eat three times aday now instead of twiceI will cook all their veg. still alot to learn...Wendy
