| Re: Hello Everyone, diagnosed with hip/elbow dysplasia Hello, Peterbann
I can sympathize with you, my girl was diagnosed at 9 mo as well (hips only at that time). She is now 6, and has advanced arthritis as well as severe dysplasia. She is a recue PM girl, and got the short end of the gene pool stick.
There are some very good treatments out there now, we just had glucosamine back then. Glad to hear you are going to a specialist. I know there is some kind of surgery for dysplasia, that if done young, dogs can live a very normal life. A aquantance of mine had it for her Newfie (paid for by the breeder as he was show quality), and he does agility now!!! Also, Adequan injections have been very helpful, although not cheap.
Greta and I send hugs and good wishes to your pup for a good outcome |
