Blue merle is not an accepted color according to te standard. A black short coat is always a dominant feature. The shorter undercoat can be gray, tan or black. The accent marks over they eyes, cheeks, feet, bow tie on chest, and under tha tail can be tan, brown, rust, or mahogony.

I would be strongly inclined, if thee's any merle anywhere... that there's another breed in his background. Remember, theoretically, each egg is separately seminated. Though it would be unlikely for EACH pup to have a different father, it is theoretically possible. What most likely occured is the sire and dam were bred... and unbeknownst or unbelieved by the owners, another dog "helped." You most likely have a mix.
