You said that you read the posts on Rainbow Bridge and you shed tears for those who lost their friends, and now I am shedding tears for you.
I am so sorry to hear of the sudden loss of your friend Scully. It had to be hard, to see him so full of life one day then so tired the next. 10 years was a good, long life for your boy, but it is just never enough for us. I found a saying once that reads, "The misery of keeping a dog is his dying so soon, but if her were to live for 50 yeaers and then die, what would become of me then?" We do get to have these wonderful animals for far too short a time in our lives, but I couldn't agree more with that quote. At least we get to lavish as much training, love, and affection on them for that short while.
Thank you, too, for giving Scully the dignity of a peaceful trip to the Bridge. You gave him the best gift that you had to offer.
Rest easy, good Scully. You deserve it.
