It's never long enough.....

Our sweet girl Abbie passed on Sunday night (9/17) - I'm just now able to write this without crying so hard I can't see the screen........she would have turned 11 in February - she was a Humane Society dog from west Texas - she was deaf and liver spotted and she came into our home when she was four months old.......she took her tutoring on proper canine etiquette from our elder female dalmatian Maggie - who passed the "supreme ruler and play monitor" torch to her in May of 2004 when she joined those at the rainbow bridge. Abbie was the first to alert to a car arriving in the driveway - even without hearing, she "felt" everything that was going on around her. She was my power walking buddy for many years - she loved everyone who entered our home and tolerated the rotten ones that joined us in her latter years, always working hard to teach them dog manners from her perch on the chair ottoman. All the dogs respected her and listened well to her lessons....our home and our hearts are a bit empty with her passing - she will be missed here, but our "dots" are back together and I know the rainbow bridge has livened up a bit with her arrival! She was ready and passed at home where everything around her was someone or something she loved........thanks for letting me share the loss of our "not-a-rott" - rest in peace sweet Abbie.
