I did everything right with her (or so I thought!) from the moment I got her. She took a puppy socialization class then went into obedience. I even put her in a fun conformation show where she won 1st place! I've never ever had a problem with her.
We spent Saturday at the lake. Shiba was swimming in the lake and appeared to be having a good time. Nothing out of the usual.
When we got home, she went onto her bed and began to chew one of her toys. I made eye contact with her and called her name and she growled at me! I came up to her and said, "Shiba No!" and reached for her toy and that's when I got bit!
I can understand now that I got bit because I shouldn't have reached for her toy. I should've used obedience and removed her from the toy. However I still don't think that she should've ever bit the hand that feeds her!
I'm so upset. I love her dearly and won't ever consider giving her away so I need major help! I've contacted my breeder who's helping me train her and I've also reached some trainers who have experience with dominant dogs. So please pray for us!
