I waited until first heat cycle too. It was at 9 months, now I wished I had waited a bit more. It was more an accident as time passed fast while in school & working. I realized her first heat cycle hit and had to count back, lol. Quiet honestly, I'm glad I waited. Athena is very small & lean, so the extra months helped her with rott traits - such as filling out in chest, hind legs musculature, etc.

Sasha, previous female rott ( such a sweetheart, I still miss her), was much more masculine looking rott than my boy Max is! looking back at body structure, etc, Sasha really makes me understand the terms 'bitchy male' and vice versa.
