| Re: Messages from 'beyond'? I'm so glad that this thread was started - I have two stories I would like to share. First is a story belonging to some friends of mine...
They had lost their 10 month old Great Dane very suddenly - he had begun to bloat and although his stomach did not fully turn, he went septic and went downhill quickly in just one weekend. After three days at a specialist/emergency clinic, they had to let him go. I was there with him for his final moments...as I followed them home, we all saw a BRIGHT shooting star - not a normal site on the horizons of the busy city of Phoenix. I believe it was a wonderful sign from Moose - and they did too...in fact, they felt it symbolized his short life...a beautiful, bright, shining star only visable for a brief moment in time.
The other story is mine - I lost my beloved heart dog Maverick in October 2002...just 4 short months after losing my wonderful boyfriend in a car accident. I didn't see how life could get much worse, and my only comfort was in hoping that Maverick and Josh were together again and watching over me happily somewhere. Well, it was almost a year after their deaths that I was cleaning my bathroom - all of the animals were accounted for...either outside playing or sound asleep in the other room. Something hit me on the shoulder...now being alone in the house, it should have startled me, but it didn't. I looked down to see what had fallen and it was a tiny dog biscuit...I still have never seen biscuits exactly like this one. There was no place it could have fallen from...there was nothing above me. I was ecstatic....I called Josh's mom immediately to tell her that I finally got my answer - Josh and Mav were together and they were letting me know that they were okay. I was afraid it might be my imagination, so I tucked the biscuit away in the box that holds Mav's ashes and collars...terrified that it would be gone when I returned from work that day. It wasn't - I still have it to this day...and it still brings me comfort - I am sure that I have had other signs from both of them...but each of the other signs could have also been explained by coincidence or other outside reasons...the dog biscuit was my absolute proof...and I'm eternally grateful for that sign!
