| Re: Alert: AKC Launches Action Center to fight New York Crop/Dock Bill I don't understand what the lawmakers are actually trying to achieve. With cropping and docking, it's DONE and it's OVER with. . .there are so many things people do that have lasting negative effects on animals. For a while I managed a horse farm and saw owners of Western Pleasure show horses who would "block" their horse's tails (basically, block the nerves/numb the tail). . .the horse couldn't move its tail for a time after that, so it made them look "prettier" and "calmer" in the show ring. One horse's tail had been blocked so many times she couldn't even lift it anymore to urinate or defecate, so her tail was always nasty. Then there's all the stuff they do to gaited horses. . .soring their feet to make them "flashier" in the show ring. Terrible stuff. Absolutely unnecessary. . .not to mention CHEATING.
Forget the cropping/docking ban ideas. . .focus on actual ABUSE. . .
